One of the Best Tools Ever

When I recommend tools I want to be clear that I have no deals or endorsement affiliations whatsoever.  I am recommending them because I have used them and they work great for me.  I get no kickbacks or benefits.  Darn.

OK, with all of that out of the way let me share with you a tool I can not live without.  If you want to make beautiful piping with ease, you can’t live without it either.  When I think back to what a chore it was to get nicely sewn and beautiful piping before this tool, I break out into a sweat.

What this tool does is to allow you, with ease, to cut a perfect and even seam allowance for your piping.  When the piping is pinned to your quilt and sewn, it is perfect every time.  No more inconsistencies.  Sigh.

The Grooving Piping Trimming Tool by Susan Cleveland

You should also be able to get it at your local quilt shop too.

This will be the best money you spent for a tool.  Well, other than scissors as you know.  The tool has grooves for the piping to fit snug and like your regular ruler, you cut along the edge with a rotary cutter for the perfect 1/4″ or 1/2″ seam allowance.  Susan includes easy to follow (so easy) instructions.

Notive how the pipin is fit inot that groove? I am cuttin gon the 1/4" seam allowance side.

Notice how the piping is nestled into that groove? I am cutting on the 1/4" seam allowance side.

Susan also has a new piping tool that accomodates larger piping for Home Dec Projects too.  If you want to add an elegant and beautiful touch to your quilts, this is the tool for you.  Everyone will be so impressed with your piping skills!

  1. That looks like a great little tool . I’ll have to remember to get one of those !

  2. I can’t live without it and I can’t imagine one of my quilts without a touch of color and interest of piping. This is as important to me as my rotary cutter! :o )
