I Need More Time in a Day

I hope everyone had a nice Easter!  I have been buried, literally buried, under a pile of paperwork and obligations. I am getting all of the handouts, patterns, etc., ready for my last teaching engagement other than the one I accepted in 2010 for my adopted guild, The Block Party Quilters, in Seattle.

My kids are at an age where they have me running up and down the road and have a huge demand on my time so quilt related travel has been curtailed almost completely, which is one of the reasons I am, at this time, enforcing at least a temporary retirement from teaching.

This is one of the reasons I started my blog.  So I could continue to share my passion and discoveries with those who are hungry for information.  Actual expert quilting information that is available at no cost to the reader.  You see my ulterior motive is to get you interested in hand applique!  What else is there?

Right now I am under the gun on several fronts to finish up obligations I have committed to so posts may be just a little bit less frequent until those are tied up and out the door.  I see the end of the tunnel around the end of June.  Then my time will be really my own again.

Just thought I would explain my dwindling posts of late.  :o )

  1. Hope you get your act together soon ! LOL ! I can’t imagine you having time to Blog along with all the rest of your commitments.
I for one appreciate all you do here and will patiently wait for more : )

The quilt ( very pretty ) that you are showing in this thread , do you do the embroidery after the quilting ?

I had a lovely Easter went out to brunch then visited family .

  2. I do the embroidery after the applique and before quilting. The embroidery would be difficult to secure invisibly and securely after quilting. It really isn’t that hard to quilt around the embroidery with free motion. Plus the batting gives it an extra dimension just like the applique. A bonus! :-)
