However, it was extraneous to that quilt and I decided to abandon that idea and keep it for a teaching sample. I even sometimes mark my vinyl overlay with the numbers too. My pieces can number over a thousand, so it would be too complicated to number 1-1,000+ and then figure out where they go, so I break it down into sections. Find the the piece(s) that are at the furthest back in each of these sections and build from there.
