I never thought to use it on fabrics for prewash. Very clever. I am so for finding tricks that reduce time, but not quality. I am off to buy one at the local craft fair this weekend as I have just embarked on an applique strippy quilt and have had to zig zag the edges. This tool will save me so much time, and the edges will look a lot neater too. I will also us it on some crazy patchwork blocks (a long term project) which are handled a lot and get very frayed.
