Are you tired of my little Wren yet? I promise this is the last of the posts on her. She is all finished, washed, blocked and ready for her close-up. See how she poses for the camera?
Techniques used were hand applique and embroidery, machine pieced and quilted. No paint, colored pencils etc. Just commercially available fabrics and thread. Since I misplaced my colored pencils, they were never an option and in this case, I am glad.
I wish you could see her in the flesh because I think she turned out so cute, I am actually compelled to literally hold her. For those of you in the Block Party Quilter’s Workshop, you will get to see and touch the Wren mini quilt for yourselves and I am anxious for you to!
My head is swimming with ideas to expand and create a multi-block quilt design based on this project. Creative over drive of the brain always happens when I come up with new workshop projects. However, I MUST finish Jason’s Pumpkin quilt after the workshops are concluded as he is becoming MOST impatient with me right now. I think I can actually feel him giving me the evil eye at times. LOL
This was a really fun project to work on and the Wren did come from my “Jason’s Pumpkin” design so I am all set to go on the Wrens when the time comes. All of the coloration and fabrics have been worked out for me already. Always a bonus!
This concludes the Little Wren project, and I really hope you enjoyed it.
