I am off to Paducah for the show. I am sooooo excited to see my friends again and to make merry. Hancock’s of Paducah will be my first stop as I arrive. I am going to TRY and control myself. The last time I went shopping there, I had to ship my fabric home and it cost me a bundle! The fabric wouldn’t fit in my suitcases(s) and I would have had luggage overweight issues at the airlines. Fabric is HEAVY!
I know Jeff and Trish will have the drinks ready as I pull up and then I can truly relax after getting up at 2:00 in the morning my time and finally arriving in Paducah around 5pm in the evening Kentucky time. Folks, for us west coasters, this is a grueling trip when it comes to travel. The only ones who have it worse are our international friends. I never have figured out how they do it and look so fresh.
Of course My housemate Miss Shirley (Shirley Kelly) always makes me get up early (isn’t that nice of her?), which would be 4:00 in the morning my time, for breakfast. I have tried to tell her that this year, this girl is not getting up that early, but for those of you who know Miss Shirley, I think you know she just poo poo’d me. I will be the person with the dark circles under my eyes wandering aimlessly through the Museum on Tuesday. LOL
Shirley has a couple of quilts in this year’s show and having seen them in progress, I am excited to see them hanging and all finished. There are other friends, some with quilts in the show, and it will be like a reunion to see everyone again. Of course Miss D. (of the tea quilt) will get to see her quilt for the first time too. I really hope she likes it. My fingers are crossed she approves.
I have prepared a small post with a couple of detail shots of the “Tea with Miss D” quilt that will be hanging in the show and it will post automatically in my absence on Wednesday the 21st around 5:30am Pacific time. That way all of the judging will be done and the quilt will no longer be a public mystery. I never did get a good overall shot so I don’t have one of those to share unfortunately. I think you will like the detail pictures though. It is a quilt you must see in person to be able to appreciate the details. I guess that is true of all of my quilts, but this one in particular. The coloring is very subtle.
Research is obviously on my agenda for my Margarita Quilt and I am sure it won’t be too hard to find volunteers to help me.
I will post about any adventures when I return.

Have a great time and I am rooting for your quilt.
KICK BUTT!!! and enjoy the Tequila !
Can’t wait till WED ! thanks for thinking of us !!
Is Miss D. Diane G. ?
Good luck with your quilt. I am excited to see the detail shots on Wednesday.
