I know many of you are waiting patiently for this book to finally be out and so am I. I want you to know what I know so you are kept up to date on the progress and are not left in the dark to wonder.
I received a call from my editor yesterday that they are pushing out the publishing date to November. In all honesty, I was starting to get a feeling that might happen since I noted somewhere that the publication date had been changed from October 1st to October 15th–not a good sign. The AQS emloyees all have to be at the Des Moines show and priority has been given to other books in my group so………..it’s now November. What day? I am as clueless as you.
I wish I had something better to report but alas, even my applique project is giving me fits of temper and frustration.
I will be honest, I am not in a good mood today.

sob, sniff, sniff..I’m not in a good mood now that I read your blog..I’m not a patient person either, I’m afraid and was really looking forward to getting your book in October. BUT I know it will be worth the wait so we’ll just hang in there!! I know it must be terribly disappointing for you so I will just “buck up” and handle it.
Not really too bad in the news department – all in all, it has been a good week! Maybe the book will be the first week in November and it will be a sell out in Houston, especially because you are a winner and we will be chatting you up and all. Signed copies maybe??? Give yourself a break, have some wine and read a trashy/funny Evanovich book.

Tammy,
My bad mood is definitely tempered by the good Houston news.
Whenever I hit a wall with an applique project, I admit I am a little difficult to live with because I do get grumpy. My husband would agree.
The book will be worth the wait and besides my birthday in is November so it will be a good birthday present!
When my applique makes my grumpy my poor dog has to hear about it!
Well, I’ve already preordered it on Amazon so whenever it comes out, I know I’ll get one of the first copies. I’m really looking forward to getting it. I’ve stopped buying quilting books (I have so many), but knew that yours would be one I had to have.
Sandra,
Repeat after me …. ‘I am a quilter, therefore I am patient. I am a quilter, therefore I am patient. I am a quilter, therefore I am patient. I am a quilter, therefore I am patient …….
Hope AQS are prepared for some big publicity at Houston, with or without the actual book ….. but ideally they should now be pushing to get it there.
Judy B
Who remembers when she wasn’t so patient in the same situation! I will say it with you ….. I am a quilter, therefore I am patient … I am a quilter, therefore I am patient …
Who else but a quilter (several in this case) can bring a smile and humor?
I am letting my brain “rest” on the problem and believe the answer will come to me while I sleep. As Scarlet says…..”tomorrow is another day“.
In the meantime, I will take Tammy’s advice and uncork a bottle of wine.
Kathleen,
So that is WHY they delayed the publishing date, for your birthday! OK then, that’s alright.
Wow Dee, what a nice compliment!
AQS has it listed in the new catalogue.
for every season there is a purpose.
Blessings come in many forms.
Somethings are worth waiting for .
OK I feel better ! I too have a NOV . Birthday if that helps.
Hope your day gets better !
Boop,
OK, now it is really becoming crystal clear. It is supposed to be a birthday present to not ONE, but TWO of you. I guess I can wait too. Happy birthday! LOL
Thanks Pam!
Boop,
I ate a BOX of Pomegranate popsicles. Yummmmmm. It seemed to help the grumpies go away. ;-D
Sandra,
We will handle it together. Do you think all ‘Sandras’ have patience issues? LOL
My birthday is in November, too, so I’ll just think of it as a birthday present to me. As long as Amazon doesn’t forget about me, it’s all good. I’m sure it’s going to be worth the wait, I love your work.
never tried those but they sound yummy !
I can get grumpy much to often are they low cal ? , LOL !
what brand ? Now I’m wanting to try them , your such a bad influence , LOL !
Judy?
What is patience?
Happy November birthday to you too Sue! So you November B-day ladies are behind this huh?
Boop,
The Pomegranate popsicles are only 70 calories for a double wide! They are sweet without being too sweet and are absolutely addicitive! Dreyer’s makes them and they are called Pomegranate Fruit Bars.
I was thinking the other day that if the final edit was recently sent in, how could it be all ready for Oct. first. My birthday was in August and I told my family not to get me anything because I am waiting for your book. Amazon has another interesting book coming out in Nov. ( not quilting) so I will order them together. Good things are worth waiting for. I also think the publicity of your award will boost interest.
In the passage that Boop mentioned (for every season there is a purpose) there is also the line
“a time to tear and a time to sew”. So do not be frustrated with your applique. It will work out.
I am back moving forward again. Thanks all!
